Ellen Hunsaker (she/her)
Full Spectrum Doula, Postnatal Yoga Teacher, Meditation Teacher
Ellen’s background in psychology, behavioral therapy, and nannying led her to the world of birthwork. While she worked closely with several families navigating the postpartum period, she developed a passion for learning all about birth and felt inspired to find ways to better support people during this time. Ellen has a soft-spoken, intuitive nature and can be a strong advocate when needed.
Ellen has a deep appreciation for the practice of yoga. She teaches Postnatal and Baby-and-Me yoga classes at PBC and absolutely loves it! She finds so much fulfillment from seeing parents bond with their babies, nurturing birthing people by supporting their healing (physical, mental and emotional), and creating a safe space in her classes for people to find community and bond over shared experiences. Ellen enjoys helping clients connect more deeply with their intuition by exploring meditation and breathwork.
Ellen is committed to providing unbiased support for her clients and empowering them in their own decisions for their births. Navigating birth and all of its complexities takes a village and everyone has the right to feel supported, safe and empowered through these experiences. She strongly believes working towards birth justice is of utmost importance, and is honored by every person who invites her into their birthing space. She is beyond grateful to be a part of this work and wonderful community.
Ellen can often be found playing soccer, hiking or paddle boarding. She’s worked as a wildland firefighter and lifeguard, and is happiest when she’s outside or in water. She loves to sit somewhere cozy with a cup of coffee and a good book and she takes so much pleasure in decorating spaces, making them feel inviting and homey.
